Federal Investor Program


Effective July 1, 2011, there is a cap placed on the number of applications to be processed per year , A maximum of 700 new federal Immigrant Investor applications will be considered for processing each year. Effective December 1, 2010, the Citizenship and Immigration Canada will once again accept applications under the federal Immigrant Investor Program

Who Can Apply? New Program criteria has been outlined, and under the new program criteria, investor applicants will need to have a personal net worth of $1.6 million, up from $800,000 under the old criteria, and make an investment of $800,000, up from the previous requirement of $400,000 In addition, applicants need to:

  1. Obtain a minimum of 35 points in the selection grid
  2. Meet the proposed medical and security requirements, by passing the medical exam, security and criminal background checks
